WILD ZERO IS RETURNING. WEEKLY. We will be BACK every Thursday in the backroom of The Shine after a big old hiatus. Go here as long as facebook is operational and all the relevant info will be posted.
To celebrate this we are putting out a three part set of mixes over the next three weeks. We’ve named them in tribute to the Canadian TV program Citylimits. Citylimits started in the early 1980’s on CityTV in Toronto and was moved to Much Music in the late 80’s, where it aired Friday night’s at Midnight until 1992 when it was replaced by The Wedge. As a kid I was subjected to so much strange and wonderful music by this program and the host at the time Kim Clarke Champniss. I would be at some tweeny boppin party friday night eatin chips and shit, being scared to talk to girls and these tuff videos from Ministry, Revolting Cocks, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, 808 State etc would be on tv, REGULAR TV!
Here is part one of our series. This is an unmixed selection and is similar to what you could expect to hear at WILD ZERO for the first hour or so as people fill into the club – Weird, dark, reverbed out drug music. Something you might want to listen to alone on a murky evening, or way late into the morning at some trippy afterparty. Part two follows next week and will be full of new wave + punk + synth party music. Part three the week after and will be our “discomix”.

Note, this mix series was to be released earlier, and this first part was in fact on soundcloud for a moment til it was removed when we went on hiatus and had no reason to resolve the series, until now. So yeah, if you heard this piece on soundcloud last summer move along and wait for the next 2 cause they are totally fresh.
